Intense red color with violet highlights. The nose offers a blend of ripe red fruit and plum, with a core of bright summer fruit carrying through to the palate. Gently integrated tannins give a deep, velvety finish.

Pairs with: Ribeye, Patagonian lamb and braised beef ribs. Its concentrated fruit and structure carry red meats of real intensity.

Winemaking

Vineyard: San Patricio del Chañar, Patagonia, Argentina, at 39° south latitude. Climate of wide thermal amplitude, low ambient humidity, constant winds and scarce rainfall. Soil: old Pleistocene terrace, not very deep, well drained, with coarse fragments. Fermented for 20 days by traditional method with controlled temperature of 26-28°C. Aged 4-6 months in oak, applied to 40% of the wine. The Reserva de Familia line seeks wines where terroir shows alongside the fruit, aged for complexity and longevity. Acidity 5.3 g/l, sugar 3.72 g/l, pH 3.7.

About Bodega Malma

Malma is a word of the original inhabitants of Patagonia meaning pride. Owned by the Viola family, Bodega Malma was a viticultural pioneer in San Patricio del Chañar, Neuquén (Argentine Patagonia), where its vineyards sit at 39° south latitude around 300 m.a.s.l. Its wines are made exclusively from the estate's own grapes, so the family oversees every stage from vineyard to bottle.
